Good morning, Gorgeous Things!
I think a Spa Weekend is in order, yes?
Gather some essentials, and a few seasonal goodies,
and join me,
we're gonna rock incredible skin.
Touchable, lickable, luminous,
and so irresistable,
you may just forget your clothes altogether...
Let's start by taking it all off.
'Cause the past is gone,
and it's time to switch gears...
Harvest Spice Body Scrub
- 2 C organic coconut sugar
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp ground cloves
- 1/2 C organic avocado oil
Mix all the dry ingredients in a large bowl until the spices are beautifully mingled with the sugar. Now add in the oil, and mix it well, If you need, you can add more oil. Spoon it all into a glass jar or container, and cap it tightly. In about 2 hours, open it up and breathe in the heavenly scent of Autumn. Use this on your whole body, massaging in circular motions. It's absolutely intoxicating!
Now, for your gorgeous visage,
Slather your pretty face with a potion bursting with natural pumpkin enzymes to slough dead skin away while absorbing it's arsenal of antioxidants, and vitamins A, C, and E. That together with clarifying cinnamon, brightening nutmeg, and purifying clove...how delightful!
Pumpkin Peau de Soie Enzyme Masque
- 1 Tbsp organic pumpkin pureé (not pie filling)
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp turmeric
- 1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice (for oily skin)
- 1 Tbsp unsweetened almond milk (for dry/sensitive/combination skin)
(You only need a tablespoon of pumpkin, so it's easy to set a little aside from any of the delish recipes we've been making around here lately!)
Combine the pumpkin and the spices in a bowl, and mix it well. Add either the lemon or the almond milk, depending on your skin type. Blend it all together. Isn't it pretty?
Cleanse first, then apply the masque to your face, neck, and décoletté, and let it sit for 5-10 minutes, longer if you can handle it! The cinnamon and turmeric will give you a tingle, so if you have very sensitive skin, you may want to omit them and just use the pumpkin with the almond milk. But really, the tingling only lasts a little while, and your skin is left so renewed and radiant, it's worth a little sting in the moment. (Turmeric, or "haldi", is an ancient Ayurvedic beauty must-have, so do try it!) Remove it well with a cloth, and rinse with cool water. Pat dry. Now your skin is bright, super smooth, and primed to receive your moisturizer, serum, or night treatment to its fullest! You only need to use a teeny bit, so this recipe will make enough for you, and to share. Store it in the fridge, and use it 3-5 days apart.
And of course, it all comes down to this: a relaxing soak to renew your spirit, beautify your body, and a some quality time with your inner Mermaid. This one will take the chill from your bones, and rev you for a little naked romping...
Heat Things Up Bath Salts
- 1/2 C Celtic salt
- 1/2 C epsom salt
- 3 drops clove essential oil
- 3 drops nutmeg essential oil
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp ground mustard seed
- 1 Tbsp avocado oil
Blend the two salts together in a bowl. Add the spices, then the essential oils. Give it a good, yummy stir. Sprinkle into your bath, lie back, and heave a sigh of pleasure...
The salts, of course, detoxify and soothe aches, while the avocado oil replaces the moisture taken away by the salts. It's always a good idea when using salt in the bath to add a little oil, as it can be sooo drying on your skin. The ginger and mustard are incredibly warming, so this is a fabulous bath in the dead on Winter too. Clove oil is antibacterial and antiseptic (besides smelling insanely good), and helps boost the immune system and repair tissue, while nutmeg oil stirs circulation and eases aches...ahhhh...
Sexy beasts, enjoy yourselves...
I'll be with you in spirit.
Unless, of course, I show up at your door.
In which case, it's about to get very cozy...
